TIM HECK
A Chicago-based, ensemble-driven, dance-theater company quickly garnering national and international attention under the direction of 2013 Alpert Award for Dance recipient, Julia Rhoads. From 2006-2013, Tim helped create and perform evening-length works presented in venues throughout Chicago and the U.S. including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Joyce Soho in New York City, and the Spoleto Festival in Charelston, SC.
The Better Half
A directorial collaboration between artistic director Julia Rhoads and theater director Leslie Buxbaum Danzig and devised with the ensemble. A playful, contemporary look at the life of relationships and the communities that surround them launched boyouantly and meta-theatrically from the noir classic Gaslight. I played the narrator who then steps into the excitable role of Detective Rough. Creation, performance and touring 2011-2013.
Punk Yankees
A remount of an earlier work devised by the ensemble exploring copyright and its often boundless paramters in the field of dance. The piece explored identity and was entirely composed of previously created work, drawn from video or knowingly flawed memory. Recreation and touring 2011-2012.
